setting up e-mail alerts

hi, website is all set up and i've entered the correct admin email address in the setup_options.php but i don't receive alerts when new members join and new useres dont recieve any e-mails including new password requests?

Please search our forums before you post and do not duplicate the questions.

Why registration or notification email does not work / arrive?

Admin does not receive emails
