If you mean Google Play, then I couldn't imagine how it could be done :) miniBB is a free-spread software, not a service. How could we build an app that could be adopted to any domain? I suppose, in some terms the Google Play License wouldn't cover that.

Paul
You are right each forum could be different...but you may think at least of notifications. There could be an app for all forums based on minibb... So anyone installing in could subscribe to any minibb forum. Then this forum could push notifications on a smartphone if a new message appears. There could be various notifications options. Is it possible to make thing like this?

That's a perfect idea; however aren't there apps which could monitor an RSS feed? We have RSS add-on for the forums, so most likely it could be configured to link in such app...

Paul
I didn't suppose it would be so easy :) will check RSS apps, thanks.

Happy Sunday, Paul.

I have finally realised this weekend that I have been missing the "Website" option from my Mobile Layout scroll menu all these years! I had always assumed the menu was supposed to be that way.

I am using:

• Mobile Layout v2.1.3, installed in 2020!
• miniBB 3.7.2 -- upgraded this weekend (but I am not entirely sure if I have broken something in the process)!
• /forums/templates-mobi/main_header.html contains "{$websiteLink}", as does the original v2.1.3 template.
• I cannot find "$websiteLink" in the addon's package (v2.1.3).
• I cannot find "$websiteLink" in miniBB 3.7.2 package either.
• The Website option is shown in the screenshot in post #12 of this thread and on the official miniBB forum in mobile view.

Where is "$websiteLink" defined? I would like to configure it to point to my site's home page.

With thanks,
marsbar

It's not included in default version of the add-on any longer, 'cause it's related to miniBB website only.

But it's easy to code it.

1) /forums/templates-mobi/main_header.html contains {$websiteLink} — that's correct as it should be (any other link could be pasted similarly)

2) Modify bb_plugins.php and somewhere at the top part of codes, f.e. straight after the if (!defined('INCLUDED776'))... line paste the following:

Change {$site_url} to your own full domain, or specify in setup_options.php like for example:

— this is how it's setup on miniBB forums.

Hi, Paul.

Thank you so much for sharing the how-to! I have added the link back to my main site. It is a great little usability enhancement, giving users an easy way to go/return to my main site.

Best wishes,
marsbar
