Sometimes my users copy text from wordprocessors into miniBB that contains "curly" quotes, double: ? ?, or single: ? ?. These are not valid in html and I would like to convert them into their entity codes: “ ” and ‘ ’. Would this be difficult? Which file deals with this sort of conversion?

bb_codes.php, you could add your own regular expression to the ones already there.

On investigation, I think it's actually bb_func_txt.php but I still can't make it work, with these entities or others I have tried.

Does anyone have any tips for adding new "string relpace" rules to this file?

Actually, I don't know how you can convert double ?? into something without knowing exactly what it is.

I guess simple str_replace could help... add it to bbcodes as it was already mentioned
