The user profiles aren't working anymore

Do you mean in this forum? I just checked and they do seem to work now. If they're not working in your forum, could you please tell more about the problem like did you upgrade the forum version or installed a plugin?

The answer to this is quite simple: you have over-modified your forum program and screwed something up.
There could be hundred of reasons for it. Noone would tell you the exact reason with no possibility to debug your files...
