I tried to login to my miniBB forum, but it said username and password didn't match. When I opt for a new password, it sais It doesn't recognize my email. According to the mysql database, the email I am using is correct. Does the request-a-new-password skip the 'admin'(key 1) user by default?

So as an alternative, I made a brand new account and went into the mysql database and manually copied the hashed passwords from that account, to my admin account, but I still can't login.

Why won't it let me log in to admin?

Open the setup_options.php file and find:

$admin_pwd='yourpassword';

You can change yourpassword there (and that's the best and more secure way to do it).

Thanks tom for suggesting the way out for admin password. It worked very well for me.
