Sign up hangs / Doesn't ask for password

It appears I am having a unique issue with my boards.

When a user tries to create an account, it script hangs .
I checked our database and it appears that the accounts are getting created and there is a password hash (all different )

the first user_id is Admin.

We do not have any addons installed and required users to reg to post.

Any thoughts on where I should look for this issue?

Just an update,

The registration does go through, but takes close to 4 min, and does not give the user the option to choose a password . . .

Are you sure it's the miniBB issue, and it's not related to your connection issues?

Could you provide URL to your forums to check?

Post as a Guest, leaving the Password field blank. You could also enter a Guest name, if it's not taken by a member yet. Sign-in and post at once, or just sign-in, bypassing the message's text.
