I'm actually not sure what your problem is about. It is logical that menu item disappears when you are entering the proper section: when you are under Mailbox, this menu disappears because you are already in; if you are under Search, we don't need to display Search because you are already there. It's a feature, not a bug...

So I don't have ideas what to recommend you, because I don't see a problem there.
