Multilingual translation of posts' content / On-line Translation of published texts

One of the most important features in minibb is its capacity to integrate a multilingual general interface, which can also be adapted to various users of one minibb forum.

But, is there any possibility to facilitate and simplify automatic translation also of published posts' content, so that minibb fora can become really multilingual, and hence, european and/or international ?

Elsewhere, it was said that some prepared an add-on plugg-in to simplify such automatic translations (f.ex. with a link automatically put at all the posts).

=> Have you succeeded into inventing and building a similar capacity for minibb ?

Sorry to raise, perhaps, a "hard" question, but we sincerely think that IF it had such a capacity, minibb could be seriously developand play a very important role in future.

Thanks for any serious, efficient and (hopfeully) .. crystal-clear answer.

(It's obviously :
- "minibb could develop and play an important role in future",
and - "hopEFully"...

By the way, how about an add-on also to rectify some typing errors,
usually due to lack of Time ?)...

Your idea has one big lack: text automatically translated is not the content. Or at last, it is very low quality content. We even will not give a try in working on that.

MultiLingual Forum : On-line Translation of published texts

MBB has the potential to become a real MultiLingual Forum :

- It already has a possibility to present in various Languages, freely chosen by each reader/user, its own "Machine" (i.e. Headers, Footers, etc : See relevant Add-on).

=> But is there any simple and efficient way to Translate on-line also the TEXT published by Forums' members ?

(F.ex. a code-link embedded in all MBB's pages, or something else)...

Some people have tried to achieve that aim, with other FRM softwares.

But it could become a great, specific advantage of MBB, if you succeeded to fully develop its MultiLingual capacities, (which usefully include also the Russian, etc).

>>> Is it possible, or not ?

It's not possible.

It could be only possible if you have, for example, a separate text area form for each language you would like to publish message in. So if you have German, English and French, you must have 3 various text message forms and 3 topic title fields for each topic. In database, you also should have 3 different fields for a topic title and the message posted, named with corresponding prefixes.

Even if you have such (heavy) modification, I am sure only 1% of users could provide you the full content, so it will be completely unuseful.

If you suggest to translate something "on the fly" using kind of automatic translator, I rather doubt it would be needed for anybody. These texts usually stand far from human messages. That's why we would even not lose our time on developing such weak feature.
