signed screen signed with <<< marks when logging in

My forum has been working fine with no problems but now this happened: when I log in (with my admin account or regular user account) I first get an empty white screen with only these signs >>> in the corner. After that I get the correct page. This has never happened before.

Also - I have no problem logging in, but some members do. What could be wrong?

Probably, you have uncommented the string $metaLocation='go'; in setup_options.
