501. Posted: 3 Jan 2005 03:25 - The Other / login form at the top of forums if $viewTopicsIfOnlyOneForum=1
One day later :) I talked with the visitors of my own forum and other friends that participate in various other forums. They all told me that as it is now in miniBB 2 (with the Login/Post message under the text box, when you are not at the front page) is absolutely enough for them, and they also said that if there is something more, it will complicate the board.

502. Posted: 1 Jan 2005 20:33 - The Other / login form at the top of forums if $viewTopicsIfOnlyOneForum=1
I've searched for this and have not found my answer... I would like to add the login form (and the 'you are logged in as...' message when logged in) to the top of the page for forum view. Well, as of right now I am using the $viewTopicsIfOnlyOneForum=1 and...

... should consider rewriting miniBB. i've not seen many programs written such confusing code. i'm currently work to get this thing integrated in a portal and have to do workarounds for all the login stuff of minibb. minibb is nice, cause it's very lightweight. but the coding-style makes me crying. you should also use a code beautifier before releasing such a thing. -------------...

... much-much slower than simple selects, specially on large databases. 2) If you delete a user, his nickname is saved in each posts. So, you can remove the user saving his posts. Also, the case-sensitive logins are a little bit inconvenient sometimes It will be fixed in 2.0.

507. Posted: 14 Oct 2004 22:40 - Custom Tutorials and Modifications / How to modify / change a USERNAME in forums?
Out of curiosity, why is the username duplicated in the posts table? Since poster_id is already in there, you can just join the posts and users tables based on the poster_id. Also, the case-sensitive logins are a little bit inconvenient sometimes... I ended up hacking my forum to make it case insensitive. Sorry if I sound like I'm complaining a bunch. Really I'm quite impressed...

w00t! That didn't work.. but it's because in the parent directory for forum I have a page that has a login box. Obviously both pages need to have the domain needed. www.carpetburn.org was not allowing http://carpetburn.org .. so I simply changed it from being $cookiedomain="www.carpetburn...

510. Posted: 31 Aug 2004 11:36 - Specific / login bug
Try to set $cookiedomain=''; There could be a difference when you login from http://www.carpetburn.org OR simply http://carpetburn.org (last will not work of course)

... same in both IE and Mozilla.. Also they assured me cookie settings were fine. I can not begin to understand what is going on.. it locks them out for like 5hrs .. or so.. maybe less. Sometimes if I login in for them and then they try it works. It's very very odd.

513. Posted: 27 Aug 2004 03:55 - Specific / login bug
a few users have complained about not being able to login.. I'm sure it has something to do with the cookies, but not entirely sure. They come to the page and if they enter the correct pw it won't say wrong pw.. it just refreshes...

514. Posted: 13 Jul 2004 14:45 - Master Class / miniBB cookie format / Login status on other pages of the website, if user is logged in on forums
Thank you! I have successfully set up logging in through my sites login page! I set only the first two parameters of the cookies value. I get the cookie name from setup_options.php and logging in works perfectly. There is a slight problem with the logout...

... logged into the forum! I use the same db table for my users as i do for the forum. I would like to ask if someone could reply with information about the cookies (and values) that the forum sets upon login. I am experienced at php but not very fond of working my way around foreign code! I already read that integrating is charged a certain amount :) but integration is not what im looking...

... like to use. I'd like to restrict access to it to registered users that are allowed access to my private forum. What I'm curious is what do I have to include in that will allow me to check login state? I've searched the forums, but haven't found anything of use. Thanks very much!

518. Posted: 27 Apr 2004 14:14 - FAQ / how can I run the Password reminder / forgotten password
User needs to click on a "Password" link near password login field. New password will be sent on user's email and activated after he confirms that.
