I just installed miniBB today. I think it's an excellent set of scripts. The installation instructions were great and I've already downloaded different skins and icons.

Just thought I would say thanks for creating it and giving it away for free. I'm a writer and I plan to the use the forum to receive anonymous, public feedback about my manuscript.

I've removed the miniBB image at the top of the forum, but otherwise have left everything as is. Hope that's okay. I've embedded the forum inside my SSI header and footer, to fit with my image. It looks great! I love the layout that you guys have created.

cheers,
kel

I have to say, miniBB has to be the best 'BBS' out on the Internet today! Love it! Just after a few hours inbetween movies, I got miniBB setup and customized (ok, templates are kind a pain since you can't use php within them that in turn you have to modify your source code) and love it! Was the perfect message board that I was looking for, couldn't have programmed it any better!! -- since this is really my third month into php, but still! :)

I've been looking for a great BB for some time, and I found it.. minibb! Wow! Like everyone said, small and customizable. Members of REAL discussion groups want to exchange ideas and info, and not try to dig out responses hidden amidst loads of silly graphics and strange signatures.

I do wish it had capability for a file attachment, and ideally, represent it in the message as a symbol to click on to either view or download the attachment. However, I think of it this way: it's an opportunity for me to brush up on my PHP and learn how to modify code. If I get such a hack working, I'll share it with all!

I love this thing! So customizable, so small, so fast, and so easy to integrate anywhere in the site. Its not overloaded with useless and excessive extras. I'm not a scripting wiz, so I enjoyed the simple structure and understandable code which made it easy to install and customize to fit my needs.

I've been using miniBB for about 10 weeks now and I really like it. With 65 members and more than 530 messages so far, my forum is doing very well.

I wish to say a big "thank you" to the developers of miniBB and I wish everyone a happy New Year 2003 !

I like this script very much. I hope you do not implement Avatars, signatures, and rest. The heavy graphics and signatures promote copyright infringement and forum spamming. I like this forum script sticks the absolute "essentials" rather than implementing all the "pretty" features. Take a look at the kind of crowd a sparkly, glitzy forum script attracts.

I like this thing. I posted something in a VBulleting style forum, and told the usrs there, to come by and take a spin on my new forums, to which one reply was, the particular forum I'm using is not bloated with a plethora of goodies, and I told the poster, that I was reverting back to the Zen of Minimalism. Which should be the case where the Internet/WWW is concerned.

Anyway, I decided to look for a new format board for my other forums, and I chanced upon yours. So much for talking about minimalism. This is really nice. And it gets to what you really need to do. Communicate.

I think I'll try it out, and see. I like simplicity in boards and most things.

Thank you for sharing this with the Community.

I'm brand new to miniBB, I've been struggling with getting yabb up and running on my netware.
24 hours ago I finally did it, yabb is working perfectly.
Then I talked to a guy who was using miniBB, I tried it out, and just threw away all the yabb work, and installed miniBB in 30 minuttes, this is a really cool forum handler.
There could be improvements (of course), but it's small potatoes, and a lof of the improvements is to be made in the design. The design is lacking what the code has.
But as I'm not experienced at all in CSS I can't make my own designs. It would be nice to have more designs available, with explanations of how to easyli change the colours used, logos etc.
