The free option is to allow only registered users to post to your forums; take a look at $allForumsReg in setup_options.php.

Hmmm... My thread was closed for some reason.

I read this, and I'd already spotted that variable and checked it was set to TRUE, but guests are still posting??

Is the setting uncommented? Two slashes before it means it's commented and is not enabled.

Don't wonder if your topic has been closed. It means only it has been posted without reading our rules.
