Database/SQL A Lot of Connections

Hello,

There are a large amount of connections, mostly duplicates, being generated by the server which is drastically increasing the load on the server. Most of these connections do not appear to close properly, hence causing the load issues I have been experiencing.

SQL or Forum is opening connections and never or not closing them properly causing this issue.

When it happens, server goes down and we should restart it.. It happens more than 3 times a day.

I was wondering if anyone can help on that? :)

Best regards

Reading manual for PHP's mysql_connect(), you may discover that The link to the server will be closed as soon as the execution of the script ends, unless it's closed earlier by explicitly calling mysql_close().

miniBB can't be guilty because of that.

The opened connection may hang up because it takes too many time to get the result, in case of a very complicated query. None of such queries is present in miniBB.

In 90% of cases people claiming miniBB, come to that.
No wonder hosting providers claim software developers, because they can't handle their business which equals 1000 customers on one server.

But miniBB is not guilty on that!
