Login Issues after using Compiler?

Having struggled to get a manual build of minibb working, I have now used the Compiler.

But, I have two obvious issues that I just don't understand.
With the manual build I had most things working, but had issues with pre-moderation and private messages, due to not getting the structure of the addons correct in bb_plugins.

However, with the Compiler build I now can't actually log-in to the forum - the main page basically refreshes, without login me in.
And, the Captcha image is not displaying.
(If I test with "URL_TO_FORUMS/addon_captcha.php?md5=O2RAD00=" Isee a Captcha image, but the text is U0000...)

I know this is something I've done wrong, but I have no idea what.
I have checked everything multiple times, and cannot spot any error.

Can someone please suggest where I need to look for the error(s)?

I have found the reason the Captcha image not showing, but not where the issues is.
The URL is being called twice:

https://www.lightillusion.com/temp/forums/https:/www.lightillusion.com/temp/forums/addon_captcha.php?md5=eHgsfyZ7PXl7

And so is not found.
But, where is that line generated, and did the Compiler get it wrong?

Ah!
The Compiler generated "addon_captcha_options.php" file has the URL to the turing number image generator in a different format, and I added the full URL in the way the Addons Readme says...

The Readme with the Compiler file doesn't make this obvious.

So, now I am just let with not being able to Login...

Despite the Compiler tries to adjust the Captcha's URL automatically, you should still check this option and adjust it manually, if needed. The same affects all primary miniBB options from setup_options.php file. If you are experiencing troubles with login, check cookie settings, $main_url and $pathToFiles at first. Also, make sure that your server doesn't cache forum pages intensively. Sometimes it could happen that you are logged in, but you don't see it 'cause the page is cached. Try to hard-refresh the page and see if the login wasn't completed.

Mmmm - the cookie bit is interesting.
After the Compile, the the file had $cookiename='forums84520';
I changed that back to the forum name, as I have always used.

Is that wrong?

Nope - changing it back made no difference.
All other bb_options.php settings really do look to be correct...
And the setting worked previously when I manually built the forum.
I really am struggling!

I have been through the bb_options.php file with a fine-toothed comb, and compared to the previous file generated when I manually built the forum.
I am convinced the issues is not there.
And I use Ctrl+F5 between each change, so am also sure there is no cached history.

Where else should I look?
(This just makes no sense at all...)

If it helps, when I click on a User's Name, to look at the profile, it says:

"Sorry! This profile doesn't exist anymore."

But I can see all the profiles in the SQL database.

I've checked the Database names in setup_options.php, and they are all correct...
I'm just getting more and more confused.

This is sort of indicator that there are some custom fields in users table which you didn't configure properly. Compare with the previous version of $dbUserShema.

That's interesting, as I've just had this message pop-up...

"Unknown column 'user_customlastvisit' in 'field list'. Please, try another name or value."

All this is as configured by the Compiler...

You know my email address and you could send me your compilation package, I will check. I couldn't be sure that this thing works absolutely without bugs :)

Thanks Paul - I'm really trying not to cause you too may problems.
But, I think I have an idea....

Looking at the SQL database I can see there is no "user_customlastvisit", or whatever it should be called, column.
How can I manually add that in the database?

Yeah!
That worked - I added the missing column, and now all is working!
(That was bloody hard work...)

I think you have compiled the package with the "Last Visit" add-on, but it wasn't installed on your previous forum. That's why the error appeared. Actually, if you are installing this add-on over, then it's better to follow its README manually and apply more things to existing database.

Hi Paul - yep, you are totally correct.
I just forgot that - been a hard few weeks building the new website, and I made a few mistakes.
I need a break...

Thanks for all you help, and from the other s (Tom for example!) on this forum.
