I would add that if the function already exists, you need to combine two codes into one. I.e. paste all codes before the "return" statement.

Does this method still work with the latest version, I do not appear to be able to get it to parse, using the mod rewrite and the keyword rich urls method 2 if that makes any difference.

That doesn't make a difference, and yes, this solution absolutely works for the latest release, as seen on minibb demo.
