just add a " /" in these lines to get xhtml 1 standard:
$relNext="<link rel=\"next\" href=\"{$nextUrl}\" />";
$relPrev="<link rel=\"prev\" href=\"{$prevUrl}\" />";
if($totalPages>1) $relIndex="<link rel=\"start\" type=\"text/html\" href=\"{$urlp}0{$htmlx}\" />";
