under their name?

You would have to code a good bit to avchieve that.
You would have to get the country name for each of the posters on the current page and then write this name or put an <img> tag according to the country name.

Why? You'ld only have to get 100+ country flags as a .gif file, that's all :)

Actually, there is no possibility to automate it. Users can enter another country (not in the list), f.e., "austria" not "Austria", what then?

If you make the list of countries a list box and not an entry field then they can only select a country that has a flag.

Also a good way of setting timezones on a per user level.

Do you really need this timezone so much? Personally we are paying attention to post's time very rarely... As for countries - nope, the users still can hack even the dropdown list. The most complete solution is to make list of available countries inside of script (or bb_specials, for example), and display flag is country in that list, else display nothing.

BUT! These flags are kind of AVATARS. You know our understanding of avatars :) They are not necessary at all, on our opinion...

Setting the timezone difference from the server time to the board time is useful. Per user is just nice when you have an international forum but not essential.

I agree entirely though about avatars and extra images. ;-)

Maybe it is... But think about the LOAD of the script. First, we need to define the timezone for each user that is logged in. Second, we need to CONVERT date once again, and this is for EACH thread! Guess, it is much more better to write on the page "All times are GMT +3", nore do this...

Of course, the information about user country, food preferences, religion, sexual orientation, habbits, hobbies, pet names and their pictures is absolutly necessary in every decent forum system nowdays... :)

This option wouldn't be hard to code at all. From what I have seen, you have the country list in an array?? For my site, I have all countries in a database that I referance by link. You could do the same here. I like the idea. Ok, so it would be a picture, but still.

I, too, have very good flags - 320x240 pixels - but am afraid that Team will find them small :)))

Listen, this idea will not pass. But you really can upload your flags in your folder for ready avatars, and everyone could install his flag as avatar.

I think it's very weak feature, because it's difficult to determine the user's flag depending on his country, even if you set up an array of all of them - user could type "US", for example, instead of "USA", some country title in native symbols etc. In general, it could be implemented, pay attention at custom rankings solution - by the same principles, you may implement flags.

It may be is, I think, an idea, Team, for some moment when you by chance are not too busy. To correct the avatar plugin for flags (only the name of the plugin and the folders, I guess). It might also be not free. Everyone to put his flag from a pre-ready folder, or to upload his own.

Only one thing... it will be not very convenient - one line of message and 7-8 cm user's stuff.

Here there are good flags:
