I was able to test miniBB on my windows laptop running apache and mysql without any issue. I then tried to install it on my ubuntu server running apache with mysql 5.0 running on a separate server.

When I try to run _install.php, I only get a blank page. When I use view source, I can see that it is the _install.php page but just without any dymanically generated content. There isn't any error messages, such as Database configuration error. Without any error messages, I'm at a complete lost as to what the issue might be.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

hello.. make sure you PHP files are executing properly on that server. Also make sure mysql module is included in PHP on this server.

Thanks, it looks like PHP is missing the mysql module/extensions.

I also have another question. The mysql server is not using the standard port of 3306. How do I set the DB port in setup_options.php?

Where you set $DBhost='localhost'; you can just set $DBhost='localhost:PORT_NUMBER'; at that's all.
